Private Well Water Chlorination, Maintenance, and Common Problems

Flint Michigan Water Crisis

Water Quality Testing

Scan Choices

STANDARD SCAN: $175. Tests for common causes of unhealthy water and low water quality. Choose this test if you need a basic scan for some of the more common contaminants found in water. This test covers all known banking requirements including FHA and VA mortgages.

Test includes: total coliform bacteria, E.coli, lead, sodium, potassium, copper, iron, zinc, manganese, magnesium, calcium, arsenic, pH, turbidity, color, odor, conductivity, total dissolved solids (TDS), sediment, alkalinity, chlorine, chloride, hardness, nitrate, nitrite, ammonia, sulfate & zinc.

Checks for the most common health risks. Opt for this well water test to find out if your drinking water contains common health-related contaminants.

This test is designed to include all of the parameters we occasionally see in water from private wells.  It would be an extremely unusual circumstance where contamination existed and it was not detected in this testing.

Included in this test is a complete micro biological analysis which includes the common test for the presences of coliform and e. coli bacteria.  Additionally, the water sample is analyzed for microbial identification. This means that we can tell you if there is any other type of bacteria, fungi, mold or parasites in the water and whether they are health related issues or not. This is a very powerful test and is unique to ETR Labs. We have helped thousands of clients all over the world get the answers they need as to whether or not there water may be hiding harmful microbial contaminants that would have otherwise gone undetected.

The scan also include checking for 6 Metals: Arsenic, Copper, Iron, Lead, Manganese and Zinc;

19 inorganic parameters: Alkalinity, Ammonia, Calcium, Chloride, Chlorine, Color, Conductivity, Hardness, Magnesium, Nitrate, Nitrite, Odor, pH, Potassium, Sediment, Sodium, Sulfate, Turbidity, Total Dissolved Solids; Radon and 61 Volatile Organic Compounds, (VOC's), which are found in many household products, paints, gasoline, petroleum products and industrial solvents.

Most significantly, this scan also does a micro-analysis of your water. It is especially important to identify bacteria and fungi that could be present in your water to assess the possible health risks and have the information needed to know whether further action is necessary to ensure the safety of your household.

Powerful  water testing for surface water and deep well sources. Tests for 61 volatile organic compounds (including MTBE) as well as the common causes of unhealthy and low quality water. For properly constructed and maintained modern wells where no odor is present in the water, this is the recommended water test kit.  It covers all likely contaminants which would occur in such a well.  If you have questions about the quality of the construction and/or maintenance of the well or there is an odor to the water we recommend you order the Health Scan.

For those whose water is supplied by a public utility or similar, this testing is recommended. It will identify any contamination which has entered the water after it was tested at the point of distribution.

Test includes: total coliform bacteria, fecal/E. coli bacteria, lead, nitrate, nitrite, calcium, copper, iron, zinc, magnesium, manganese, potassium, sodium, chloride, chlorine, color, hardness, pH, total dissolved solids, sulfate, ammonia, alkalinity, odor, conductivity, sediment, turbidity, arsenic, zinc and 61 volatile organic compounds,  And Radon

Test includes: total coliform, fecal/E. coli, calcium, copper, iron, zinc, magnesium, manganese, potassium, sodium, alkalinity, chloride, chlorine, color, conductivity, hardness, nitrate, nitrite, odor, pH, sediment, total dissolved solids, sulfate, turbidity, arsenic, lead, ammonia, radon, 61 volatile organics compounds (including MBTE) plus the following pesticides: aldrin, a-bhc, b-bhc, d-bhc, g-bhc, chlordane, 4,4'-ddd, 4,4'-dde, 4,4'-ddt, dieldrin, endosulfan i, endosulfan sulfate, endrin, endrin aldehyde, heptachlor, heptachlor epoxide, methoxychlor, toxaphene

About the Lab

A very inclusive test. Consider this test if you're concerned about industrial / agricultural pollution from either a nearby industry or a landfill or dump. Unauthorized dumping anytime in the past can pollute your water. Includes pesticides, herbicides, expanded heavy metals detergents as well as the more conventional contamination in our more limited testing.

Test includes: total coliform, fecal/E. coli bacteria, standard plate count lead, nitrate,  nitrite, chlorine, color, hardness, pH, total dissolved solids, sulfate, ammonia, alkalinity, odor, conductivity, sediment, turbidity, arsenic and 61 volatile organic compounds (including MTBE), 3 herbicides and 19 pesticides, Polychlorinate radon, calcium, copper, iron, zinc, magnesium, manganese, potassium, sodium, chloride, d Biphenyls (PCB), the heavy metals antimony, beryllium, cadmium, chromium, mercury, nickel, selenium, silver, thallium; total organic carbons (TOC), methylene blue active substances (MBAS), hydrogen sulfide, o-phosphorus. Test approved use in all 50 states.

Welcome to ETR Laboratories.

ETR Labs has been in the laboratory business since 1995. We are a Central Massachusetts based, full service Laboratory, specializing in the analysis of private drinking water. Our facility has serviced thousands of clients across North America and beyond.

There are essentially three market segments we serve. We serve industrial companies large and small analyzing everything from process water to plastics, air samples to unknown analysis, dairy to particle analysis.  The second market segment is those individuals and businesses that own private water wells.  The third market segment is those businesses (Home Inspectors, Real Estate Agencies, mortgage lenders, Filtration Companies, well drillers and pump installers) which serve the private well owner.

Outstanding service and quality have made ETR Laboratories nationally recognized . WE combine professional staff with state of the art equipment to provide our clients with fast results using the most up to date testing methods. We offer a wide range of testing options at reasonable prices that will address any concern or environmental issue that could affect your water.
